CNN-IBN tells you where and how you can spot your favourite Bollywod stars.
The maximum action is in the lobby of the hotel where stars are put up. However, during IIFA 2008, all the action was at Bangkok's Dusit Thani hotel.
It is impossible that one does not spot a Bollywood star, if one does manage to enter the hotel.
Be it the Bachchans, Govinda, Vivek Oberoi, Karan Johar or any other face from Bollywood, the sparkling hotel lobby is where one could get a chance to interact with any of them.
“Its nice to meet your fans whenever you cross the lobby. Mostly when you come to IIFA, there is this kind of hysteria outside the hotel and in the lobby and it is always exciting and exuberant. More than anything else, it is exciting because it is outside the country and you are seeing that kind of global recognition. It’s always heartening to see that,” says filmmaker Karan Johar.
Following of Bollywood and the awareness of the Hindi films abroad is much more and it is increasing every year. Asians and also the white audience are recognising the Indian films,” says actor, Aftab Shivdasani.
For fans who usually have to fight through crowds outside the venue or shell out big money to watch the shows for a glimpse of their favourite star, the option of bumping into them in the lobby of a hotel comes as a blessing.
