Margao: Sporting Clube de Goa are eager to make a strong comeback after an inconsistent performance when they take on a depleted Air India in a ninth round I-League match on Sunday. Sporting's inconsistencies in putting up a steady show saw them win only two matches from eight outings, leaving their Technical Director Alex Alvares worried.
With seven points from eight matches, Sporting are placed at 10th position, just three points ahead of bottom-placed Air-India. "The team is performing fairly well but not been able to convert chances that come their way which saw us losing at least four close matches. The foreigners also have not lived up to his expectation. The goal-keeper has faltered at crucial moments which saw to our defeats," stated Alvares.
According to him, the team will be at advantage tomorrow as it is playing on a home ground. "We need a couple of victories to gain our team's morale and tomorrow we have a good chance against Air-India who also are not playing well. We have a good chance to beat them considering our home advantage," he said.

With seven points from eight matches, Sporting are placed at 10th position, just three points ahead of bottom-placed Air-India.
Alvares said that because of injuries to players the team was unable to stick to its strategy.
