Mumbai: Actress Vidya Balan celebrated Children's Day with a group of young fans at a radio station in Mumbai and shared her experience of working as a mother in her upcoming film Paa.

Vidya plays mother to none other than Amitabh Bachchan in R Balakrishnan's Paa. And she agrees that the Big B has clearly outdone himself in his portrayal of Auro, a child who has a rare genetic disease called Progeria.

"It wasn't Amitabh Bachchan anymore, he transformed into Auro completely. When he got into make-up, his mannerisms changed," she said .

Abhishek Bachchan plays Vidya's husband in the film and she said she had a great time shooting with the junior B as well.

"Abhishek's a livewire on set! He doesn't even rehearse. When the director says action, you don't know what to expect," said Vidya.

When asked how she prepared to play the role of a mother in Paa, she replied, "My mother, every mother I've met in my life has been a reference point. Every mother there is thinks her child is the best thing in the world," she shared.

"Pehli baar maine mehsoos kiya ki maa hona kya hota hai (it's for teh first time I realised what is it to be a mother) and therefore, if I may say so, I'm glad Mr Bachchan was my first child," she said.

Now that is one role no other heroine from today's generation can boast about.
