New Delhi: Bollywood actor Imran Khan, known for his chocolate boy looks, will turn baddie for the sequel of the 2010 film Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai. He will play a don in parallel lead with Akshay Kumar.
The movie was to feature Shahid Kapoor earlier but now Imran has been finalised for it.
"Talks were on with Shahid but we have decided on Imran now. Imran loved the script, and we are very gung-ho about this project. The audience will get to see a different Imran," Girish Johar, head of acquisition and distribution, Balaji Motion Pictures, told IANS.

Karan Johar's 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu' has yet to hit the screens but the filmmaker has already recovered Rs 21 crore which he had invested in producing the romantic comedy starring Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor.

The production budget of the film was Rs 21 crore and the maker spent another Rs 8 crore on print, advertising and publicity.

The news is that 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu' has recovered Rs 15 crore by selling satellite rights and Rs 6 crore from music.

A strong pre-release buzz has surrounded the film.

Karan Johar feels this is because the lead pair has added a zing to their performance.

Imran and Kareena are playing themselves in 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu' and that's why they have been able to add that extra zing to their performances.

It's a slice of life film.

The producer of the film Karan Johar says that 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu' is inspired by Woody Allen's style of filmmaking.

Imran Khan shared a video travelogue during the promotional drive of 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu' which captured the essence of the film by showcasing the important moments of the promotional tour.

The music of the film is given by Amit Trivedi of 'Dev D' fame. This time he has come up with trendy numbers unlike his songs in 'Dev D' and 'Wake Up Sid'.

Imran Khan is working second time with Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. They had earlier worked in 'I Hate Luv Storys'.

Valentine's Night has Payal Rohatgi in the lead.

The cast also includes Sangram Singh, Rahul Minz and Neha Thakur.

The film is probably India's second Facebook movie after 'Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge' but it has a different angle this time. It features Facebook as a common platform where people with broken hearts come together to celebrate the Valentine night.

Imran Khan
In the film, Akshay will be seen as underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, and Imran will play his rival Aslam.
The project will be directed by Milan Luthria, who is basking in the success of 'The Dirty Picture'.
The prequel - Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai - had Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi together on screen. Their mentor-turned-rival chemistry as Sultan Mirza and Shoaib, respectively, was appreciated.
Producers are hoping that the Akshay-Imran pairing works wonders for the sequel too.
