New Delhi: Born Robert Nesta Marley on January 6, 1945, Bob Marley was the lead guitarist, singer and song writer for Bob Marley & The Wailers (1963–1981).
The original Rastafarian, he was known for his trademark voice that made hits like 'I Shot the Sheriff', 'No Woman, No Cry', 'Could You Be Loved', 'Stir It Up', 'Jamming', 'Redemption Song', 'One Love' and, 'Three Little Birds', as well as the posthumous releases 'Buffalo Soldier' and 'Iron Lion Zion'.
He died of cancer in 1981 after unsuccessfully trying to battle the odds since 1977.
