New Delhi: Josef Fritzl who kept his daughter captive in a dungeon has slammed the media for calling him a monster and says he must be given a chance to present his case.
Ahead of being questioned for the first time by prosecutors since his arrest, Fritzl hit out at media reports about him.
His lawyer quoted him as saying that that it would be unfair to call him a monster since he could have killed all the six children he had with his daughter without anyone knowing.
Fritzl also claimed he had saved the life of 19-year-old Kerstin, the eldest child born out of the sexual abuse.
The Austrian, who fathered seven children with his daughter while keeping her locked up in a subterranean dungeon as a sex slave for 24 years, will plead insanity to avoid a prison sentence.
