India Inc on a hiring spree

Mumbai: The hiring spree at India inc is going strong. According to the latest Manpower Employment Outlook Survey, 45 per cent of the 5,000 employers surveyed said they seek to increase their employee base in the next three- months.

Over 2,000 corporates said they would be hunting for talent over the next three-months.

Recruitments are specifically upbeat for the insurance, finance and real estate sectors. The survey reveals that 50 per cent of the companies surveyed in these sectors will up their head count in the next quarter.

However mining and construction, transport and services sectors show a slowdown as compared to the last quarter.

Also, only 140 of the 5,000 employers surveyed said they plan to layoff workers.

"Forty-two per cent net positive outlook is the second highest among the 26 countries surveyed across the globe. It shows that we are keeping in pace with the kind of growth taking place across the businesses in the various sectors in world," Jeffrey Joerres, chairman and CEO, Manpower Inc says.

The survey reveals western India will see a lot of hiring activity in the next three-months. Employers in south India come in a close second, however north and east India lagging behind.
