Vijayawada: Team India manager for the Twenty20 World Cup in England V Chamundeshwarnath, who is also the General Secretary of Andhra Cricket Association, has been relieved of the duties by the association for allegedly indulging in corruption and favouritism in team selection.
"The Executive Committee of the ACA today unanimously decided to exclude him from discharging his duties following allegations of corruption and favoritism in team selection," ACA president G Gangaraju said over phone from Vijayawada.
The ACA has also conveyed the decision to "exclude" Chamundeshwarnath to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), he said.
Chamundeshwarnath faces allegations of corruption in the purchase of chairs for an Indian Premier League match, which was planned to be organised in Visakhapatnam, Gangaraju said.
He also allegedly showed favouritism during selection of players for under-19 squad and the women's team, he added.
Chamundeshwarnath will be asked to defend himself at the General Body Meeting of the association scheduled next month.
