New Delhi: Seeking to intensify international pressure on Pakistan, India is set to share with United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon the results of its probe into the Mumbai attacks when he comes to New Delhi next week.
The UN Chief will be coming to New Delhi on a day-long visit on February 5 to attend the 'Delhi Sustainable Summit', aimed at putting climate change on the global agenda. However, reliable sources said the UN chief will also be meeting top Indian leaders and discuss with them the situation in the aftermath of the Mumbai attacks in November last year.
India is expected to share with the UN Chief the evidence linking Pakistani nationals to the Mumbai attacks and explore different avenues within the UN to mount pressure on Pakistan to bring the perpetrators of the Mumbai carnage to justice.
India is weighing the option of approaching the UN if Pakistan repudiates the evidence given by India that links elements in Pakistan to the Mumbai attacks.
New Delhi is in the process of compiling a detailed list of individuals and entities based in Pakistan who have been involved in different attacks on India since the 2006 bombings on commuter trains in Mumbai, said official sources. It wants more such entities and individuals to be included in the terror list of the UN.
Ban will come here after visiting Islamabad where he is likely to discuss with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari the situation in the sub-continent in the wake of the Mumbai terror strikes.
Ban made a strong pitch for a larger role for India in the UN Security Council and appreciated India's contribution to peace-keeping operations when he came to Delhi last year.
