Washington: Indian Ambassador to the United States of America Ronen Sen has expressed confidence in the new US administration. He says that India will be top priority for Barack Obama.
'India is top priority'
"The president-elect has made statements to the effect that they will be continuing to strengthen a true strategic partnership with India and he has also described it as his first order priority," said Ronen.
CNN-IBN: How confident are you that his (Obama's) administration and he himself understands the issue and agrees with India's point of view that the terrorists actually came from Pakistan?
Ronen Sen: Statements to that effect have already been made. There has not been a statement at any level that questions that fact.
On terror being a global threat
"Focus on terrorism and related issue is arising from the recognition of the fact that you are not dealing with an India-Pakistan issue. It is a global threat and it has to be dealt with through global co-operation," said the Ambassador.
On CTBT
"We will have to see how it plays out, whether in terms of details, or whether it is on the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty or other instruments in the Non-Proliferation regime. We can work together in the area to serve our common interests. We have to work that out," he added.
