New Delhi:After wife beater diplomat Anil Verma was recalled from London, another Indian envoy Alok Ranjan Jha, has been recalled from New York.
Jha, a diplomat with the UN, was recalled from the US after he misbehaved with Air India flight attendants on his way to New York.
Jha was allegedly drunk on a flight to New York, sources have said.
Jha is also reported to have misbehaved at the John F Kennedy International airport. The incident happened on January 7.
What's most shocking is that Alok Ranjan Jha was the topper of his batch in the 2002 UPSC exams.
Sources in the MEA, meanwhile, have said, "It was an unfortunate incident. The matter has been immediately and thoroughly looked into. The officer stands transferred back and necessary follow-up action will be taken."
