New Delhi: Sabeel Ahmed, the Indian doctor arrested in connection with the failed Glasgow bombings in June 2006, was deported to India.
Twenty-six-year-old Sabeel boarded a British Airways flight from London and reached Bangalore early on Thursday morning.
He was escorted by three Scotland Yard detectives. Upon landing, he left the airport through the rear exit and reached home.
Sabeel, who was sentenced to 18 months in jail, was deported as he had already served his term while on trial.
He pleaded guilty of having failed to inform the police regarding the attack carried out by his brother Kafeel.
Kafeel drove a burning jeep into the Glasgow terminal building on the June 30 last year.
He died in hospital weeks later due to the severe burn injuries from the botched attack.
Sabeel's mother Zakia Ahmed says she happy to see her son back home, though doesn't want anyone to disturb him.
"He's feeling relaxed now after he came out of the airport. Now he's taking rest as he has travelled all night," she said
