CNN-IBN has a copy of the proposal letter that James Otis is going to present to the Indian consulate in New York. CNN-IBN has learnt Otis is ready to concede to the Indian demand of returning Gandhi's possessions on two conditions.
CNN-IBN: Mr Otis, you had a meeting with the Indian consulate officials, tell us briefly what progress was made at the meeting?
James Otis: They have been very kind. We discussed over the items and the deal. First of all was to try to increase the GDP from 1 per cent to 3 per cent to the poorest of Indians.
Gandhi would have deeply supported that proposal because the Indian Government since the Mumbai attacks have shifted more of its focus on the military and reduced on the GDP.
CNN-IBN: Have you in the past brought and sold materials of Mahatma Gandhi from various auctions or private galleries?
James Otis: I have brought some of the item, but he ones that are ther ein the auction are the ones that are the best ones. I have included two more items. One of them is a telegram that he wrote to a student.
That was Gandhi's unique way, he would recieve telegrams, write notes on them and send it back through some one at his Ashram on the bi-cycle. The second one is his blood report from the urban hospital New Delhi.
