London: If you ever dreamed of building your own monument of love, here's an opportunity to do that.
Toymakers Lego have launched an exclusive model of the Taj Mahal, which has over 5,900 pieces and is meant for die-hard Lego fans.
The model made out of Lego bricks measures only 2ft by 3ft but this miniature is actually the largest model yet in Lego's 74-year-old history.
But why the Taj Mahal?
"We had represenatives who went out into the community and asked that if we built a world landmark what would they like? What are the top ones that will excite you. You would think someone from the UK would want the Big Ben or someone from the US would like the Statue of Liberty. Strangely enough, the Taj Mahal came out tops," Lego designer Jaimie Philip Berard says.
It took 22 years and over 20,000 workers to make the original Taj Mahal in agra. But if you think the replica is going to be an easy game, think again.
his model has over 5,900 pieces and it has taken several experienced lego fans upto 40 hours to build.
The monument of love doesn't come cheap. It costs £ 200 in the UK and about $ 300 in the US. It's not available in India at the moment but can be bought online.
