Hyderabad: The man who tested positive for swine flu and quarantined at a city hospital is stable and on the road to recovery, doctors said on Monday.
The H1N1 positive patient, the first case in India which came to light on May 16, is stable and progressing well, they said.
Speaking to PTI, S V Prasad, Superintendent of Chest Hospital, said the passengers who had come under casual contact with this person while on a flight from New York to Hyderabad via Dubai are being traced.
Two of these contacts were traced down and admitted to the hospital last night. Their samples have been sent for testing and results are awaited, he said.
The hospital had received nine calls about people with symptoms of influenza. However, symptoms of H1N1 virus were not found in these nine patients but they have been given the necessary advice, Prasad said.
