The Indian doctors in UK won their case for equal immigrant status.
They will now have the right to apply and be considered at par with Europeans for medical training jobs.
The doctors had appealed against a British High court decision that supported the government's new immigration and work rules for Indian doctors.
The British government had announced in March that any doctor who wanted to get a training grade job would need to obtain a work permit. Indian doctors say they were not consulted properly before the decision was taken, and a racial impact assessment had not been carried out.
