New Delhi: The Sharm-el-Sheikh debracketing of talks between India and Pakistan and action on terror is now a thing of the past.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at a function in the border district of Barmer in Rajasthan has made it clear that there will be no talks given the current situation between the two neighbours.

Manmohan Singh said, “India-Pakistan relations are not conducive.”

Read with earlier reports, it's clear India has drawn a line in the sand with Islamabad.

Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao will not be sent for talks with her Pakistani counterpart in New York in September.

The composite dialogue will not be resumed. Pakistan has to show proof of action against terrorism in a manner which satisfies India

Meanwhile, Islamabad's reaction was not long in coming.

Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said, “Their internal political situation is putting a lot of pressure on them. As far as Pakistan is concerned, it is ready to engage.”

Rubbing it in, Qureshi once again demanded "legally tenable evidence" from India to enable action against Lashkar chief Hafiz Saeed, the main accused in the Mumbai 26/11 terror attacks.

A Lahore anti terror court, meanwhile adjourned till September 1 the trial of Lashkar operations chief Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi and four others, all accused in the Mumbai attacks.

The court has also barred the media from reporting the proceedings of the trail that'll now be held in-camera.
