New Delhi: Two powerful earthquakes hit Indonesia in just 24 hours and more than 700 have been confirmed dead. However, authorities fear thousands could be still lying dead beneath the rubble.
“We hope we will find survivors, but we cannot say for sure. We are trying our best. We have seen dead bodies inside,” says military rescue worker Asyraf Azis.
More devastation came with the second earthquake that hit the island on Thursday and spread more panic.
International community has sprung up to pour in emergency aid for the quake victims.
Germany, Russia and EU have offered millions of dollars in aid for the Indonesia quake victims.
