Indo-Pak semi-final: a jackpot for bookies

Mumbai: The Clash of the Titans at Mohali is a godsend for the bookies. Call it patriotism or sound business sense, the money is firmly behind India to put it past Pakistan in the semi-final.

While the whole country is gearing up to witness the mother of all cricket encounters at Mohali on Wednesday, bookies are right on their phones, working over time before this massive clash.

The Men in Blue are hot favourites as of now to beat Afridi's men

at 60 paisa for India winning as against Pakistan winning, at Rs 1.60.

But chances of a Sachin Tendulkar ton are not very bright at Rs 3 for a century.

Virender Sehwag is also right up there as far as scoring a century is concerned

at Rs 3.

But, Yuvraj Singh and Gautam Gambhir are not amongst bookies' hot favourites as of now at Rs 5 for each hitting a century.

In the Pakistan line-up, Mohammed Hafeez, Kamran Akmal along with Younus Khan and rookie Asad Shafiq are bookies' favourites.

But ironically, Misbah-ul-haq, the man who almost won the 2007 T20 World Cup for Pakistan is down on the rating chart at Rs 6.50 for a century.

The Betting rates on even minute possibilities, and permutations and combinations are changing every minute, allegedly over a whopping Rs 5,000 crore are at stake. But as it's expected to be a real cliffhanger of a match, even the bookies claim they could be shooting in the dark.
