Indo-Pak wrestlers unite for 'Mission Dosti'

Katra: Wrestlers from India and Pakistan unite at the Navratra wrestling festival called Dangal in Katra this. The wrestlers are fighting to achieve 'Mission Dosti' and this year they had more to celebrate with Olympic bronze winner Sushil Kumar at the event.

It's a fight not to win or lose but to celebrate the festival of Navratra together in a unique way.

The event becomes more special this time with Sushil Kumar being felicitated with traditional silver Gurj.

Bahut acchi baat hai, khel se dosti badti hai (It's a very good thing as sports bring people closer)," said Kumar.

This year 65 wrestlers participated in the tournament, with nine from Pakistan. And even though an Indian wrestler from Haryana won the title, the neighbours were not complaining.

"India ka maihmanawazee hamesha mashoor hai, (Indian hospitality is known and we always cherish this whenever we go back)," said Pakistani wrestler Mohammad Tariq.

The first Indo-Pak Navrtra Dangal was held in 2005 and since then it has become an annual event. Even as the borders between both countries remain tense, this is one fight which always ends on a happy note.
