Indore: Under fire over media reports that a man bled to his death at an Indore police station, the IG of Indore Police said that it was the victim's friend and family who were to blame.
"His friend took him home first, rather than bringing him straight to the police station. Then, his family brought him to the police station to file a case, instead of rushing him to a hospital. Also, the paperwork took just five minutes and not 40, as is being claimed by the local media," she said.
"It was the police that called the emergency services because of which he could be taken to the hospital," she added.
Ravi, the victim, and his friend were attacked by a group of molesters as they tried to defend Ravi's sister who was being targeted by the group.
After the ambulance arrived, Ravi was taken to the hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
Meanwhile, two of the accused have reportedly been arrested.
