Sangli: An infant was lowered into a 50-feet deep well in a village in Sangli. Residents of the village believe that the ritual helps increase the life span of the children.
The practice has reportedly been going on for years. For the villagers, the ritual is an occasion to celebrate.
Meanwhile, in another shocking news from Vishakhapatnam a car and motorcycle were driven over the hands of 50 school children.
The stunt was performed at the Seventh Day Adventist School ad pegged as a display of expertise in martial arts and resilience.
All the participating students were from Class 8 and above. The MLA of the area, V Ramakrishna Babu, and the mayor were present during the event.
at the Veer Nagamma temple in Tumkur district in Karnataka the priest beats up women and children, who consider the beating a blessing. The belief is that once you get beaten by the priest, you'll get the Devi's (goddess') blessing. This ritual happens on Ugadi, the New Year, every year.
