Cardiff: Sri Lankan opener Tillkaratne Dilshan will not be part of the upcoming Celkon Mobile Cup in the West Indies after suffering an injury to his right calf during the ICC Champions Trophy semi-final on Thursday. Dilshan hobbled off the Sophia Gardens pitch with strain midway through the fifth over of Sri Lanka's innings and returned in the 49th over to remain not out on 18.
According to ESPNcricinfo, scans have revealed that Dilshan has suffered a second degree tear which requires between four to six weeks rest and that a replacement batsman will be named later on Friday, the likely replacement to come from Sri Lanka A who are currently in the West Indies.
The tri-series starts on June 28 with Sri Lanka playing the hosts at Kingston.
The Sri Lankan opener strained his right calf in the Champions Trophy semi-final and will not be part of the series against West Indies and India.
