New Delhi: The Indian Olympic Association has questioned the All India Tennis Association's criteria for the selection of its staff members for the upcoming Olympics. The body that deals with all Olympic issues in India has sent a notice to the tennis organisation on the matter.
Tennis player Sania Mirza's mother, Naseema is part of the staff and that's understood to be a bone of contention.
The IOA is reportedly also unhappy over the number of people going for the event starting from July 27.
The AITA drew a lot of criticism recently over its team selection for London 2012 after Mahesh Bhupathi refused to play with Leander Paes in men's doubles.
The tennis body, which wanted the two players together for the event, went for a compromising formula, pairing Bhupathi with Rohan Bopanna and teaming up Paes with Sania Mirza for mixed doubles.
Sania, who has been playing with Bhupathi in the category for quite some time now, later objected to the combination in a vehement way.
