New Delhi: The Sports Ministry has given its set of recommendations to the Law Ministry on the proposed anti-fixing bill and government sources claim that with cricket being included in the bill, the IPL comes under the ambit automatically.
Earlier, sources had said that the IPL will not be brought under the new law. Meanwhile, sources said that the draft will not cover the Hockey League and club football leagues like the AFC Champions Trophy. Sources added that the draft mentions that the term dishonesty should be defined to give clarity.
The recommendations coming from Sports Minister Jitendra Singh's office press for bringing sports fraud under the bill's ambit.
