New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav’s cup of woes seems to be overflowing.

Facing CBI inquiry into disproportionate assets case and resentment within party ranks, an agitated Mulayam approached Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee with his complaint box on Tuesday.

Yadav complained to Chatterjee that Congress leadership was attempting to "fire" him ahead of Assembly elections.

Accompanied by Samajwadi Party General Secretary and Man Friday Amar Singh, Yadav also submitted an audio CD containing a conversation purpotedly between a journalist and the DA petitioner Vishwanath Chaturvedi.

Chaturvedi – who has a Congress background – had filed the DA PIL against the Yadavs in Supreme Court.

The CD purportedly has excerpts of conversation where the speakers are making deregatory references against the apex court judges.

Amar Singh and Mulayam Singh are also set to meet President A P J Abdul Kalam and Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat later in the day to apprise them about these developments.

Not stopping at the complaints, the leaders said the party will also raise the matter in both the Houses of Parliament and seek clarification from the Government.

The leaders also displayed the controversial CD and said they were ready to authenticate it. They want the CD to be sent to Central Forensic Laboratory in Hyderabad for verifications.

"This is a very serious matter. This is an insult and contempt of the court," Amar Singh told journalists.
