New Delhi: For two men the Australia tour was a triumph over adversity. Irfan Pathan was desperate to complete a comeback that started with the Twenty20 World Championship while Harbhajan Singh was the subject of some ruthless targeting by crowds and the media alike.
At the Pathan household in Vadodara it's all quite as Irfan has stayed back in Australia to attend a friend's wedding.
So there won't be any celebrations. Irfan's mother hasn't been keeping too well of late but when her son is back; he will have a mouth watering treat waiting for him.
"Tayari karenge, Accha accha banayenge uske liye. Special biryani banayenge uski favourite aur uske baad bhaaji bhi banayenge uske liye (We will prepare his favourite biryani and other foods for him)," Irfan's father Mehboob Khan says.
In Jalandhar though, Harbhajan won't have to wait for too long now to dig into his favourite meal - aloo parathas - freshly off the oven made by his adoring mother.
Harbhajan's sister is keeping away from the kitchen but along with her friends; she can't wait for her older brother to return. The family has had much to endure over these last few months but at the end of it all they are proud of Harbhajan.
"Jab unlogon ne Harbhajan bhaiyya ke khilaf bolna suru kiya to hum log yehi dua karte the ki indonon ko hi harbhajan bhaiyya out kare aur wahi hua. Jab bhi match hua to harbhajan bhaiyya ne un dono ko out kiya (When they (Andrew Symonds and Matthew Hayden) started targeting Harbhajan we prayed that he should get the wickets of those two. That’s what happened in the matches)," Harbhajan's sister says.
