Irular Sangam seeks cattle insurance cover

VELLORE: The Vellore district Irular Sangam has urged the state government to include an insurance component into the soon-to-be-launched free distribution of milch animals under a special Economic Development Scheme for Scheduled Tribes as a sub-plan to central assistance on February 23 here.
N Gajendran, president of the association, while welcoming the scheme which he described as a “big boon” to the tribal community, pointed out that the insurance component was surprisingly missing.
