Click to play videoAhmedabad: The Narendra Modi government received a major setback on Monday when the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the Ishrat Jehan case told the Gujarat High Court that her encounter was fake.
The report also said that the police wrongly passed Ishrat and her friends as terrorists.
Speaking to CNN-IBN, Ishrat's family have demanded death sentence for Ishrat's killers.
Ishrat's mother said that she always knew what happened with her daughter was wrong. She also questioned Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi asking him what he got by killing her daughter.
"I've always maintained whatever happened with my daughter was wrong. It was difficult to raise my childe after my husband passed away. Ishrat used to look after everything. What did Modi get by killing her?" Said Ishrat's mother.
She added that she always misses her daughter and just wants her back.
"I always miss her. If Narendra Modi wants to give us justice, I ask him to get my daughter back," she said.
Ishrat's brother said that she was his inspiration. He added that her killers deserve the harshest punishment, adding that they should be hanged.
"She used to inspire me always. I feel lonely now without her. I want Ishrat's killer must be hanged. They deserve the harshest punishment," said Ishrat's brother.
