New Delhi: International pressure on Pakistan to shut down terror camps operating from its soil continues. America’s influential Democrat Senator and likely next head of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee John Kerry gave out a strong message when he advocated linking of military aid to results on the terror front.

Kerry arrived in India on Sunday to hold discussions on the situation arising out of the Mumbai terror strikes.

On Monday External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee told Kerry that Pakistan must hand over underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar. To this Kerr said that Pakistan should take effective steps against terrorism.

“It is imperative that Pakistan takes steps to deal properly with camps, Lashkar-e-Toiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed and with all of those,” says Kerry.

“We'll tell Zardari to shut down terror camps, prosecute 26/11 suspects .The ISI must be made accountable to Pakistani government,” adds Kerry.

Ministry of State (MoS) External Affairs Anand Sharma delivered a similar message.

“It is in the interest of this region and Pakistan’s progress and stability that they take firm action against the terror outfits which are active, against their training camps,” says Anand Sharma.

According to some reports the central government has warned the Punjab provincial government against releasing prominent Jamaat-ud-Dawa leaders without proper investigation.

It has also hinted that Jaish chief Masood Azhar maybe extradited if the international pressure continues to build.

“We should not allow and we should never allow out territory to be ever used for the terrorist activities,” says Pakistan’s Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.

This comes in the wake of reports that four JuD activists picked up last week have been let off. They include a senior Jamaat leader Maulana Abdul Aziz Alvi, who is the chief controller of the Jamaat in Occupied Kashmir.

Local media say that the security services are barring access to Kasab's home in a village in Faridkot. It appears journalists were roughed up and warned against trying to enter the village.
