New Delhi: In a series of fresh air strikes, Israeli warplanes blasted fuel tanks at the Beirut International Airport.
The death toll in Lebanon has now reached 140 and those killed in the Israeli airstrikes are mostly civilians.
In the Israeli airstrikes, 16 people were killed and a 100 wounded in Lebanon's southern city of Tyre.
Israel pursued its five-day military offensive against Hezbollah targets and scores of civilian installations across Lebanon came under Isareli attack on Sunday.
Hezbollah retaliated by firing rockets at Haifa, Israel's third-largest city, killing eight people.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah has warned of more attacks on Israel.
Leaders attending the ongoing G8 summit in Russia have asked both Hezbollah and Israel to show restraint and end the violence in the Middle East.
In a statement from the summit, the G8 leaders asked Hezbollah to free abducted Israeli soldiers and immediately halt attacks on Israel.
The G8 leaders urged Israel to end military operations and withdraw forces from Gaza.
But it echoed support for Israel's right to self-defence voiced by the United States.
The statement also made no reference to criticism by France and the European Union that Israel's bombing of Lebanon was excessive.
German and US officials said it was up to Hezbollah to make the first move.
