New Delhi: It's back to work for Pakistan's Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhary.
He returned to the Supreme Court 16 months after he was removed from his post by former Pakistan president, Pervez Musharraf.
Hundreds of lawyers and supporters were waiting for him as he arrived at the Supreme Court on Tuesday morning at 0900 hrs Pakistan time.
Chaudhary was restored by Prime Minister Gilani on March 16, after large-scale protests from lawyers and politicians, including PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif.
He was removed in 2007 after he began examining cases that could have embarrassed Musharraf, who seized power in 1999, or threatened Musharraf's legitimacy as he sought a new term in office.
