Mumbai: Actress Priyanka Chopra is all about girl power. Now, having signed a three-movie deal with a studio she's all set to give Bollywood action stars a run for their money. CNN-IBN catches up with the star.
Varsha Pillai: What is the UTV deal all about? It gives you some creative control over the films?
Priyanka Chopra: The good thing about the deal is that there is no bondage in anything. There is immense freedom in the kind of films I want to do, the people I want to work with. We just want to make good films and it’s great to work with a producer who gives you a say if you don’t want to do something.
Varsha Pillai: With you polishing your skills for Don and now for Drona, is it time for the action guys to step back and say that since you are doing their job, you might as well do it fully?
Priyanka Chopra: It is something new and exciting. You don’t really see girls kicking butt all the time. You feel really strong about the fact that I can look after myself. I thought it was very cool.
Varsha Pillai: Don 2 is coming up. Are you in it?
Priyanka Chopra: It’s too early for me to say. Farhan (Akhtar) is in the middle of scripting it. It will happen only in the middle of next year. So that’s something he will be able to answer better than me.
Varsha Pillai: That’s one of the lessons learnt right, diplomacy?
Priyanka Chopra: Yes, it was ingrained in me during Miss World.
Varsha Pillai: Thank you for talking to us.
Priyanka Chopra: Thanks a lot.
