Mumbai: After his controversial letter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati, Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh has now expressed concern over the implementation of NREGA in Maharashtra.
The Rural Development Minister has written to Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan expressing deep concern over the lack of 'social audit' on NREGA in the state.
However, Maharashtra Chief Minister Chavan has rejected all 11 concerns raised by Jairam in the letter.
The letter came days after Jairam wrote to Mayawati citing a huge scam in MNREGA scheme in the state.
Jairam had cited seven districts spread across UP where central funds have been allegedly misused by the state. These districts are Balrampur, Gonda, Mahoba, Sonbhadra, Sant Kabir Nagar and Mirzapur.
