Jalandhar: In a move to promote its people-friendly image, the local police has created a page on the popular social networking site Facebook where citizens can post their grievances.

Director General Police (DGP) Anil Kaushik launched the page at a formal function organised here yesterday. "The Facebook page will provide each citizen an opportunity to post their complaints, suggestions, comments and photographs. Their grievances will be taken up by officers at the Jalandhar Police Commissionerate," he said.

The page has been designed in a simple, user-friendly and interactive manner, he said, adding that it is expected to be a "good" platform for citizens to interact with the police. Police Commissioner Gaurav Yadav said the objective behind such a step was to know the problems of the citizens

and to help serve them better.
