Like always, in the latest 007 movie, Casino Roayle, Bond not only saves the world and gets to keep the girl, he also does it while speaking in Telugu.
Casino Royale was released in Andhra Pradesh as Prapanchaniki Okadu and the audience's had a mixed reaction.
"I am so disgusted. How can I watch this? This can happen only in AP,” one of the audiences said.
What is bugging Bond enthusiasts even more is the fact that the Telugu version of Casino Royale has been released before the English one. But there are also those who are thrilled with the new bond saying Naa Peru Bond (My name is Bond).
"Its good. The action and the visuals are nice. It’s a good thing people who don’t understand the language can also watch,” another audience says.
Meanwhile, for the distributors it was a planned strategy. They say the move will do wonders for increasing the film's audience base.
"A character like James Bond in Telugu is a mark of respect for the language. The audience is loving it,” says PVR, General manager, Mohit Dubey.
