Mumbai: The festival of lights has today become the festival of crowds. Jam-packed markets, traffic blocks on roads, and jammed cell phone networks are common during Diwali.
People send dozen of SMS's to greet their loved ones. "I am waiting for really funny message so that I can forward it to others," Mumbai resident Ravi Moolya said.
The popular trend is to send most unique messages like quoting a Sanskrit Shloka, or Gandhigiri with diyas, and e-crackers. "It feels good that my old friends still remember me. I've been getting messages all day. My inbox is full," Delhi resident Deep Singh said.
As the cell phone networks get jammed during the festive time, people start sending SMS's as early as possible. While people exchange millions of SMS's, the cell-phone network providers get the right reason enjoy Diwali. Goddess Lakshmi blesses with every beep!
"How much money are the cell companies making this festival season is unimaginable. They are rolling in money I’m sure," Mumbai resident Sachin Bibvekar said.
