London: Saori Yoshida of Japan won the 55-kilogram freestyle wrestling title Thursday, joining teammate Kaori Icho as the only female wrestlers with three Olympic gold medals.
Yoshida beat Beijing Games bronze medalist Tonya Verbeek of Canada 3-0, 2-0. Her 12th world-level championship gave Japan three of the four golds awarded in women's wrestling at the London Games.
Icho won her third Olympic gold medal on Wednesday and Japan's Hitomi Obara won her first.
