Jawans recieve rakhis sent by Kolhapur girls

Kolhapur: It was a special Raksha Bandhan for the jawan's posted in border areas.

Girls from Kolhapur have sent one lakh twenty thousand rakhis to them.

The Swami Vivekanand trust in Kolhapur had posted these rakhi's on behalf of the girls.

The trust has been collecting rakhis for the jawans every year on Raksha Bandhan since the Kargil war.

However, this is the first time so many rakhis have been collected.

Commanding Officer of the 109th Maratha Linght Infantry Battalion, Colonel A K Menon handed handover these rakhis to the jawan's.

A student of Shahaji College, Rupali Dhone says, “After to coming to Kolhapur, I have realized that I have so many brothers. I don't have words to express my happiness."
