London: Singer Jay Sean walked away with the trophy of the British artist of the decade at the recently held Asian Music Awards. The Indian-origin British singer was also awarded the Best Male artist, however, he was unable to attend the event as he is on tour in Australia, reports dailystar.co.uk.
Other big winners included rapper M.I.A., who won Best Video for her 'Bad Girls' promo, and singer/actress Preeya Kalidas, who was named Best Female artist.
The original name of Jay Sean is Kamaljit Singh Jhooti and he is a singer, producer as well as a beat-boxer.
