Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government has ruled out additional security for AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa a day after she said she suspected the ruling DMK of a conspiracy to eliminate her.

State DGP P Rajendran on Thursday said there was no need to enhance the security cover for her. Currently, Jayalalthaa has been provided with three constables.

Meanwhile, the ruling DMK has referred to the privileges committee of the state Assembly reports that there was a threat to her life from the DMK minister MK Stalin.

Stalin is the son of DMK supremo and Chief Minister M Karunanidhi.

On Wednesday, speaking at a press conference in Chennai, Jayalalithaa made several allegations against the state government, including a claim that her life is in danger.

“My life is under threat. The DMK government reduced my Z-Plus security to just three constables,” she said.

Jayalalithaa said her party would approach the Madras High Court seeking more protection, after an intruder entered into her house.

She said she planned to lodge a complaint with the President, the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister on the issue as well.

She alleged that Karunanidhi’s son, M K Stalin, had told his father that ‘she would not be alive’ during the next Assembly polls.
