Jaya to unfurl tricolour Monday

CHENNAI: Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa will be unfurling the National Tricolour on the ramparts of Fort St George on Aug 15 to mark Independence day
After taking the salute from the ceremonial Guard of Honour and inspecting the parade the Chief Minister will hoist the National Flag from the Fort rampart at 9.30 am and deliver a speech.      
The Chief Minister will also distribute the Kalpana Chawla Award for courage and daring enterprise, six awards to persons who have done exemplary service for the differently-abled and two awards to persons who have worked for the socio-economic upliftment of women living in poverty. The Chief Minister will also distribute sweets to the differently-abled children seated at the  Assembly Portico.
Traffic Regulations
Vehicles with Red Car passes should proceed via the War Memorial and after dropping VIPs near the ‘In Gate’ enter the Fort St George through ‘In Gate’ and park the vehicles inside Fort St George campus. Vehicles with Blue passes can reach the function venue through the Reserve Bank of India subway, or enter the Fort St George through the St George Gate and reach the function
