JD(S) to support BJP to form coalition Govt

New Delhi: The BJP and the JD(S) are back together. A desperate move on the part of JD(S) chief and former prime minister H D Deve Gowda to avoid a split in his party has come as a blessing in disguise for the BJP.

Even though just six hours before they embraced each other, both sides were spewing venom.

But the throne in Bangalore allows politicians to try out every conceivable experiment. And it's a great moment for the BJP for the first time, the party will have a chief minister in the south - a moment born out of Gowda's desperation to survive politically...

BJP Leader M Venkaiah Naidu says, “What is the immorality here. People's mandate is against the Congress.”

So what got the two back together? Till Saturday morning, Gowda was still weighing his options but the wily old fox of Karnataka politics moved swiftly when the threat of a certain split of his party by the congress became real.

He lost no time to return to the comfort of the BJP whom he had called a communal party as late as Friday.

The Congress was caught off guard.

AICC Leader M Veerappa Moily says, " We want president rule because that is the right course to have a good government and that is what the people of Karnataka want. "

Now the state's political future depends on the Governor who has to be convinced of the durability of the coalition.
