New Delhi: Jet Airways has sacked two of its pilots for joining a newly formed union.
Captain Balaraman and Captain Sam Thomas were given marching orders for joining the National Aviators Guild which was registered with the Labour Commissioner in Mumbai last month.
The pilots enjoy the backing of nearly to 600 union members and the union is trying hard to get Balaraman and Thomas re-instated, failing which they plan to confront the management.
Sources have told CNN-IBN that Jet employees going on strike over the sacking is not ruled out.
In November 2008, Jet had sacked 32 foreign pilots in order to cut cost.
