Jet Lite plane makes emergency landing

Kolkata: Around 150 passengers and four crew members of a Jet Lite flight had a narrow escape on Tuesday when the aircraft was hit by a bird soon after take-off from the airport in Kolkata and had to make an emergency landing, airport sources said.

Airport sources said the pilot of the Bangalore bound flight which took off at 6 pm made an emergency landing at the NSC Bose International Airport when he realised that something "had hit the plane".

According to an airport source, the plane was hit by a bird.

No one on board the plane was injured and the aircraft was also not damaged.

The flight again took-off for Bangalore after a one and a half hour delay.
