Mumbai: What is a dance performance sans flashy and eye-catching costumes? But if the costumes are used to raise money for a noble cause, it wins quite some brownie points for the show-stealers.

The makers of Sony televisions’ popular dance show Jhalak Dikhla Ja have decided to auction the costumes worn by the stars in the show to raise money for underprivileged children.

The dazzling clothes that enhanced swings and twirls of show stars Mona Singh, Shweta Salve, Ajay Jadeja and many others are up for sale. The money raised from the auction will be handed over to Akanksha, an NGO that has been actively involved in the cause of children education in Mumbai.

"If we could do something for the children, we will be happy to have been able to serve a cause. Who knows? They might just be future viewers of our channel," Senior Vice President, SET India Pvt Ltd, Aseem Kapoor said.

"When you SMS 'bid' to 2525 or log on to our website, you could go to the listing and pick up the dress of your choice. I think this would be a once in a lifetime opportunity," he added.

After being a part of extravagant performances, fancy attires are all set to become a reason for innocent smiles.
