Jharkhand: 10 students trapped after sudden release of water from Tenughat Dam

Bokarao: Just days after 25 students were washed away in the dam tragedy in Manali, ten students on Friday got trapped in the water flow Tenughat dam in Bokarao in Jharkhand. The incident took place after the water was suddenly released from the dam.

The students had gone to have bath when suddenly water was released from dam. All ten school students are still trapped between fierce flows of water.

The dam authorities are taking help from the Army in Ranchi. A chopper will be called in for rescue operations. According to sources, the dam authorities had not any raised before releasing the water from the dam.

Situated across the Damodar river, the Tenughat dam is an important tourist spot in Jharkhand where hundreds of people usually gather everyday. The dam is controlled by the Jharkhand government.
