Chaibasa (Jharkhand): Former Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda's family is worth over Rs 1.24 crore in terms of moveable and non-moveable property.
According to an affidavit filed by Koda along with his nomination paper for Singhbhum Lok Sabha seat as an Independent, the cash, fixed deposits, insurance policies, shares, gold, vehicles and paternal landed property stood at Rs 50,41,284.
He showed his wife's assets as Rs 53,15,692 and daughter's as Rs 20,93,635, according to the documents made available by the returning officer after Koda filed his papers in Chaibasa on Monday.
A graduate from Orissa's Utkal university, Koda had dethroned his former party colleague and ex-chief minister Arjun Munda to take up the reins of the state for 23 months before Jharkhand Mukti Morcha President Shibu Soren dislodged him from the chair.
This is for the first time that Koda is contesting Lok Sabha elections.
