Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday ordered initiation of relief measures to people affected by flood in Sahibganj and Jamshedpur districts.
He also asked the officials concerned to set up camps, if necessary, and mobile health clinics, officials said in Ranchi. Chairing a high-level meeting on the flood situation in the districts, Soren asked the officials to personally visit the places and oversee relief measures.
Those families which lost livestock should be suitably compensated, he said. The state has experienced heavy rains in the past three days, triggering floods.
