'Jism 2' is a conservative film, says Mahesh Bhatt

Mumbai: Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, who has roped in adult movie star Sunny Leone for erotic thriller 'Jism 2', insists that the film is conservative and

traditional in a way.

'Jism 2' is a sequel to the 2003 release of the same name, which starred Bipasha Basu and John Abraham in the lead. "It is a conservative...traditional film in a way. It is about a journey of a porn star, her longing for real love. It is a journey of a woman. It is her quest for love," Bhatt told reporters here last night at a promotional event of 'Jism 2'.

Mahesh Bhatt had approached Sunny Leone in the TV show 'Big Boss' where she was a housemate, to offer her a role in this film.
While director Pooja Bhatt said she signed Sunny for the same reason she signed John Abraham for 'Jism' (2003): instinct.
Later Pooja Bhatt signed Arunoday Singh and Randeep Hooda to co-star Sunny.
Although the film is a sequel to 'Jism' (2003), Mahesh Bhatt compared it to Italian romance drama 'Last Tango In Paris'.
Actor Arunoday Singh made his Bollywood debut with Sikandar (2009), but gained popularity after Sudhir Mishra's 'Yeh Saali Zindagi' (2001).
Surprisingly, director Pooja Bhatt said recently in an interview that 'Jism 2' would be like her 'Arth'!
Director Pooja Bhatt believes in showing boldness as it is, with no double-meaning and no toilet humour.
The smokin' hot chemistry between Arunoday Singh and Sunny Leone is evident from the promos.
Clearly not a 'family film', Pooja Bhatt said that 'Jism 2' is a film by the adults and for the adults.
In the promo of the film, Sunny Leone plays a seductress who traps the male leads Arunoday and Randeep, just like Bipasha Basu had in 'Jism'.
In 'Jism 2', Arunoday plays an intelligence officer, Sunny plays an adult entertainer, and Randeep Hooda plays an assassin.

The plot revolves around an officer who hires an adult entertainer as a honey-trap for one of the most dreaded assassins.
Pooja Bhatt also tweeted that the film has not been affected by the censor cuts that she made "upon my own discretion".
Did you know that before Sunny started working in the adult entertainment industry, she worked at a German bakery, a Jiffy Lube and later at a tax and retirement firm!
She first got introduced to an adult magazine photographer while she was studying to be a paediatric nurse!
The film is one of the most awaited releases this year, and audiences are waiting to see if Sunny can prove her mettle in the acting profession.
Pooja Bhatt stated that there will be one section of people who will come to see only Sunny Leone, while the other will come to watch the erotica in the film.
The film is set to hit the theatres on August 3, 2012.

"'Jism 2' is of an erotic thriller genre. It is not right to think that it is only that... there is emotional quotient in the film as well which is very different from other movies," he said.

Before zeroing on Leone, Bhatt were toying with the idea of taking Mallika Sherawat or Bipasha Basu. "We had Sunny in our mind since 2002, but things did

not materalise then. We had also thought of Mallika and Bipasha, but Pooja Bhatt (director) felt both were not apt, she was not happy with it. She felt it would be like treading on the similar path. Then again we had an encounter with Sunny and Pooja was more than happy to have her in the film," Bhatt said.

"We saw Indianess in Sunny, she had a persona of a porn star and she fit the bill for 'Jism 2'. The requirement of the film was that a girl who makes a living for herself through the path of sin but has a heart of gold," he said.

The sequel directed by Pooja will see actors Randeep Hooda and Arunoday Singh play Sunny Leone's love interest. The film releases on August 3.
